THE ULTIMATE
Today was a very busy day! Everyone did a very good job of focussing on their work! Today was library day. We also had Sharing Circle. We had a number of students share by talking about events instead of showing things.
A reminder that tomorrow is a PD Day so no school for students.

make making phone phoning ride riding skate skating write writing Today was Library Day. It was also Sharing Circle Day. As you know, Sharing Circle is when students can bring in an item, momento or story and share it with the class. We sit in a circle and students who have something to share stand up and speak about it. When they are done students have a chance to ask questions. This activity gives the student sharing opportunities to practice communicating through speaking and it gives those listening an opportunity to view and listen for detail, show respect for others and ask thoughtful questions. I have already seen tremendous growth both in the speakers abilities and the thoughtful questions being asked!
Please check your child's backpack for notices. There is one from the Board of Trustees and another just for Grade 2's regarding a Dance Club.
Tomorrow is Sharing Day and Library Day! Today we had many students earn many stickers on their behaviour sticky....there were a possible 8 stickers to earn today. We have a new behaviour system. Everyday we get a sticky on our desk. We can earn stickers, stamps and hole punches by working hard, staying on task and showing good behaviour. Everyday, students will bring these home so you can see how our day was! We had a great time today and a calm workplace.
We are starting floor hockey in phys ed. We are also continuing to learn about Peru. In music we are learning about drumming! It was a very cold today indeed!
Please be sure your child leaves the house with mittens and hats on! We had a number of students away today so students that were here were able to catch up on Math (Grade 2's are working on Making 10 and Grade 3's are working on 3 digit addition with regrouping), art projects and trying out some new centres. |
