THE ULTIMATE
A reminder that tomorrow is Library Day and Sharing Day.
I will be away Thursday, Friday and Monday at a conference. Mr. Luke Abma will be our guest teacher for these days. The students have assured me that they will be very cooperative and kind while I am gone!

Friday May 31 is the last day for students to wrap up their Jump Rope for Heart fundraising online and to submit any cash donations to the school.
Today we had many special guests in! The first was a real surprise! Our school was invited to a special comic drawing session by Freeze DNA Book Publishing! They taught us some very cool drawing techniques. They have written a variety of comic style books. Each student brought home an order form should you wish to purchase any.
We also had ICNR. Our last session with them will be in June. If you have any Nicholls Family Library books, please return them to school or drop them off directly at the library. This afternoon we also had our last session with Miss Denise. She is the Occupational Therapist who has been teaching us some valuable skills such as: recognizing the difference between expected and unexpected behaviours, expected behaviours when working in a group and ways to help make others feel part of the group. Rosscarrock School held our Heart & Stroke Foundation JUMP Rope For Heart assembly this morning. Students had the opportunity to learn about the importance of heart health and the ways that skipping can provide a quick and effective fitness workout. Skipping activities will take place during Phys Ed classes, and we would like to offer the opportunity for students and families to fundraise online and collect donations for heart disease and stroke research.
For students and families that may be interested in fundraising, students will receive a donation envelope. For your convenience, there is also an online option for collecting donations. Thank you for your support! How to get started 1. Visit JumpRopeForHeart.ca and Register for JUMP 2. Set up your personal fundraising page 3. Send donation request emails to friends, family and colleagues If you need assistance, please visit JumpRopeForHeart.ca and check out the instructional videos and step by step “how-to” resources. Today we started working on a special project. (We can't tell you about it though until Sunday!)
In math, Grade 2's are working on Adding and Subtracting with regrouping while the Grade 3's are wrapping up multiplication and starting division. Today was Library Day and Sharing Day. We have many stories being told about younger siblings which classmates are loving! What a fabulous afternoon of Engineering we had with Teacher's Pet! Our presenter gave the students many challenges to work on using the Engineering Process. We were so focussed on our projects we had time at the end to design whatever we wanted!
