THE ULTIMATE
Today we had our first fire drill. I was very proud of the way our class moved outside and to the designated spot so quickly and quietly! Well done!
An optional accident insurance brochure went home today. A reminder that Thursday is library exchange day. Students need to return their books in order to sign out more. The following is a message to all families from Mrs. Fraser: Dear Families, Communication between home and school are vital to your child's education, please make sure you text the word "Yes" to 724665 if you want to recieve messages from the school. In addtion you will need to set up a Power School account. Create your MyCBE / PowerSchool Account Today The Calgary Board of Education has implemented a new student information system – My CBE / PowerSchool – which replaces the old My CBE Account and HomeLogic applications. MyCBE / PowerSchool is the new one-stop online resource to:
To access the new MyCBE / PowerSchool applications, legal guardians will need to create a new Parent Account. Previous My CBE Account and HomeLogic username/password will no longer work. To create a new account, go to this website: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe. Families will need to know the email on file at their child’s school, as well as their child’s CBE Student ID number and birthdate to begin. On the MyCBE / PowerSchool sign-in page, there will be instructions on how to request an access key for individual students. The access key(s) will be sent by email. Families can use it to create an account, and add their children to their account. Student Sign In Students will be able to sign in using their CBE Student ID number and existing CBE network password. If they are new to the CBE, they can obtain their ID and initial password from their teacher or school administration staff. We understand that switching to a new technology can be difficult, but we’re confident that families will find the new system is more convenient to use. We appreciate your patience and support as we transition to MyCBE / PowerSchool and embark on a new year of learning. PowerSchool Help Options

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Please remember to send your child with indoor shoes this week. We still have quite a few students without....the weather is turning on us and wet shoes cannot be worn in the classroom or the gym. Also please make sure to dress for the weather! We had an indoor recess today because it was raining and Mrs. Fraser saw there were many children not dressed for such weather. We are continuing to practice our Read to Self stamina this week. Tomorrow we hope to increase our time! In math we are exploring many different ways to represent numbers to. Another busy day today! We had our first library exchange time this morning! Students may sign out 2 books at any one time and they are due back after 1 week. Our library day will be every Thursday morning.
If you have not already done so, please send indoor shoes with your child. Also send school forms in if you have not yet done so. A reminder that tomorrow is Friday and therefore an early dismissal day. Students will go home for the day at 1:00. We will have a snack break during the morning. Have a great evening! Ms. Quon Today was our second day of Grade 2/3! We have been busy the past two days with many activities and learning new routines. We have read many books (Ask me about 'Dear Teacher' or 'If You Want to Bring An Alligator To School - Don't!') We have practiced comparing numbers and adding with math games and have practiced Read To Self using two ways to read a book. Many students have their indoor shoes here already - Yay! Our goal is to have all students with indoor shoes by the end of the week. A packet of forms were handed out yesterday. Please fill out and return ASAP. The following is a school-wide message: Dear Families, We are all set up and ready for our fun lunches to begin. Please see the attached "Fun lunch ordering Guide". Fun lunches will be on Sept 19, Oct 18, Nov 15, and Dec 13, 2018. More dates are to be released in the new year. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.
