THE ULTIMATE
Today was Library Day - Books are due next Thursday.
Today is the first day of our Home Reading program and our class is very excited about it! Students have a reading book at their level and a tracking sheet inside a plastic bag in their backpacks. Students are expected to read aloud to someone each evening and then fill out the date and title of the book read. (Parents may add a comment if you choose) This should only take a few minutes each evening and should be a fun experience. Each morning students will exchange their book. We had our second Fire Drill today. Mrs. Fraser picked three quietest classes to win a prize and we were one of them! We are curious to learn what she will bring us on Monday!

We started our Pumpkin Exploration today. We used our sense of sight and touch to observe and then sketch details about our pumpkins. Tomorrow we will try a couple of experiments!
Today was our first Grade 5/6 Buddy day! Our buddies showed us how to code using Ottobots! The bot follows a path created by the students by reading various colour patterns. We had a lot of fun!
Once we cleaned up it was discovered that one of the bots was missing! Please keep your eye out just in case it accidentally travelled home! Today was library day. Please check your child's backpack for any yellow overdue notices. Library books are due back in one week.
Tomorrow we are having our first get-together with our grade 6 buddies! A reminder that tomorrow is a half day so no lunch but we will still have a snack break. Snowpants sure came in handy today! Afternoon recess was a happy snowman and snowfort building time today!
We ignored the snow in writing today and wrote about Fall and our 5 senses. Tomorrow we will be writing about things about our family that we are thankful for. In math grade 2's are learning to write numbers in words and Grade 3's are looking at patterns in numbers. A reminder that tomorrow is Library Day. We have been talking a lot about Fall but it feels like we skipped right over to Winter! I hope everyone is keeping warm and safe!
Happy October everyone!
We started off the month by welcoming a new student to our class! Our words of the week will stay the same for this week. We will be working with these words through centres and ending the week with a quiz! Once again the words are: are sent first nest how ten our pet went best |
